Rebecca Circle
The Rebecca Circle was formed to assist in the ministry of the church through hospitality and outreach programs. They meet the second Thursday of each month at 11:30am in Fellowship Hall. Although this group does not usually meet during the summer months, this summer (2010) they will meet at the same time and place with a little different twist: It will be a workshop open to everyone. All are welcome to participate in making ornaments. Bring your own sack lunch!
Rebecca Circle:
- Provides hospitality services on an “as needed” basis for emergent ministerial services
- Provides support to the Interfaith Network Shelter program
- Stays in touch with absent or shut-in members of the congregation
- Processes and mails Sunday bulletins to absent or shut-in members of the congregation
- Hosts luncheons for the Brea Ministerial Association
- Hosts luncheons for special church programs and/or projects
- Selects the church members that will receive both the Man & Woman of the Year Awards to recognize their contributions to the church and the community
- Purchases, decorates, and delivers Christmas trees to people in need in our community
- Supports church youth programs through monthly meeting contributions
Rebecca Circle members also take occasional field trips. On one of their recent trips they visited the beautiful Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights to learn more about Chinese culture and Buddhism.
